A PICTURE MURDERER
“It is astonishing that we tolerate these spectral visitants from our departed lapses of .taste long after they have lost their title to be a part ol our daily thoughts and moods,” writes Mr James Douglas, in the ‘ Daily Express.’ “But,when we move into a new house we can be ruthless with these wall deformers and defacers. We can take them down and banish them for ever from our disgusted gaze. body else may fall in love with them, for, once a picture has been glazed gna framed its career is almost everlasting. There are heneficient beings who demolish old houses, but I nave never heard of a, professional picture murderer, a person whose business, it is to destroy pictures which have no right to live.”
