GERMANY'S AEROPLANES
“An interesting sidelight on the aerial warfare in Spain is the repeated accounts of tho comparatively poor performance of the German machines,”' writes Lord Strabolgi in tho ‘ Daily Herald.’ “The German fighter-aero-planes are reported as slower than either the French or Italian aeroplanes; and it is known that the French machines available for the Spanish Government are not of the latest design. This is a consideration of great importance. German friends of mine are now saying that the latest German aeroplane engines are not in use. It is difficult to believe this. One cannot imagine the German authorities risking the loss of prestige that.follows from a disclosure of inferior material bv not sending the very latest machines.’-
