At 11.14 p.m. yesterday the city fire brigade was called to the corner of Forth and Union streets, where an eight-roomed house and shop were on fire. The shop was badly damaged, but the brigade men managed. to save the house. The premises are owned by Messrs E. J. Smith and T.ousley, and occupied by Mrs R. Walker.
