LAUNCH ADRIFT AT SEA
TOWED BY UNION STEAMER [Per United Press Association.] AUCKLAND, February 14. While proceeding down the coast to Auckland o,n the -way from Ocean Island, the Union Company’s steamer Kaiwarra was diverted from her course early this afternoon to pick up the fishing launch Marina from Mangawai, which had broken down and was drifting helplessly. The Kaiwarra took the Marina in tow and brought her to Mangawai Heads, where she was met by another launch, which towed her back to Mangawai, which is on the east coast of North Auckland below Waipu Cove. Tho Marina, which is owned by Mr P. Frauich, of Mangawai, left early in the/ morning on a trip to the deepsea fishing grounds off the coast. Mr Franich was in charge, and his passengers included Dr W. H. Horton, of Auckland, president of the Mangawai Deep-sea Fishing Club, and Mrs Horton and three other Auckland residents.
