WEST HARBOUR AFFAIRS.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —“ Wake Up ” refers to me as a Conservative with Conservative ideas. I have been a member of the Labour Party for the past 25 years. I will now try and enlighten “ Wake Up ” that the work of borough councils ; which comes in everywhere for criticism and blame, no matter how conscientiously it is performed, is public service of high order. Men of all shades of opinion and every kind of standing are found willing to give up their often scanty leisure in order to, render service to their fellow citizens. “ Wake Up ” no doubt smiles at any suggestion of gratitude being offered for such service.—l am, etc., 11. A. Donnelly. February 12.
