OTTAWA AGREEMENT
AUSTRALIA DESIRES REVISION STATEMENT BY MR LYONS Press Association—By Telegraph Copyright MELBOURNE, February 15. (Received February 15, at 10.30 a.m.) Mr Lyons stated that action would be taken this year by the Commonwealth ’ Government to secure revision of the Ottawa Agreement. Foreshadowing another Imperial Economic Conference similar to that held at Ottawa in 1932, Mr Lyons said no revision of the Ottawa Agreement would be attempted at the Imperial Conference in London m May. The only question which would be raised at that conference, or in later London conversations,.'would be the method of obtaining revision of the agreement. " , , Mr Lyons indicated that the Federal Ministry accepted the principle of economic co-operation throughout the Empire which had been established at Ottawa. If the decision were made to hold another conference it was possible that the Commonwealth would propose that it be - held in Australia, the only disadvantage being Australia’s distance from some parts of.the E m pi re -
