300 MEN REQUIRED EMPLOYMENT IN HOUSING SCHEME [Pee United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, February 12. What is believed to he the biggest order for labour ever made. to th® Placement Service was given ty M* J. Fletcher, of the Fletcher' Construe* tion Company, to the Placement Offi* cer for Hutt Valley this morning. Mr Fletcher’s order was for 260 car* penters and 40 joiners; who will b« employed in the Government Housing Scheme in Hutt Valley. The men are required in about * week, and although it is believed that this number may not be available, th® placement officers throughout New Zealand will be advised, and all avail* able men on the books will be given, an opportunity of employment.
