LIFE SAVING
AUSTRALIAN SURF TEAM'S VISIT . [Per United Press Association.] ■ WELLINGTON, February 12. A civic reception was extended the Australian life-saving surf team today. - i The speakers were- the mayo? (Mr T. C. A. Hislop), Mr Coira (president of the New Zealand Surf Life Saving Association), and Mr Kitt* (on behalf of various athletic bodies)* Replying, Mr J. Cameron, manager of the team, said the members were proud to be included in the first, team to cross the Tasman with objects beyond those of athletic competition, and he extended an invitation to a New Zealand teamto tour New South Wales in 1938. ' The Mayor: “And I hope we will see you have again in . 1940,” by which, he meant for .the. centenary celebrations. Among those present were the Minister of Education and of Health (Hon. P. Fraser) representing the Government, and official representative* from various spprts organisations.
