OLD MOORE Among tlie grounds on which Bexley (Kent), by the way, is basing its claim to a charter of incorporation is the fact that “ Old Moore, the almanac-maker, was interred there.” It will be interesting to see whether the bones of almanac-makers can work miracles like the bones of saints, or even establish such a claim on the community as to count in local government scales. Like others of his craft, Old IVloore (there are now two of him —which seems to give a better chance) has had his hits and misses, but none so famous as his rival Zadkiel’s luck in foretelling the death of the Prince Consort.—‘ Observer,!
