The resumption of normal diplomatic relations with the Liberian Government was referred to by Viscount Cranborne in answering a question in the House of Commons. He said the appointment of His Majesty’s Consul-General at Monrovia as fiis Majesty’s Charge d’Affaires resulted from the decision of the • British Government to recognise the Liberian Government.
