COMEDY AND DRAMA FOR ST. JAMES ' Her Master’s Voice,’ which heads the double-feature programme opening at the St. James on Friday, is a sparkling new' comedy, featuring Edward Everett Horton, Peggy Conklin, Laura Hope Crews, and Elizabeth Patterson, 'taken from a successful Broadway stage play, ‘ Her Master’s Voice ’ is said to be excellent comedy, telling of the trials and tribulations of Ned Farrar (Horton), who is suffering from a combination of too much mother-in-law and the fact that he is out of a job. The mother-in-law- (Elizabeth Patterson) is a remarkable character. She stops reminding him that he is out of work only when she changes oyer to the theme of her daughter’s mistake in marrying him. How he eventually defeated her and earned fame for himself as a radio singer provides first-i .'ass comedy. The support* ing feature will be ** Woman Trap,’ starring Gertrude Michael, George Murphy, and Roskoe Karns. As its name implies, this thriller has for its central idea the sinister use of an innocent woman to assist a gang of desperadoes to blaze a way to freedom and elude the law. The story has swiftness of pace and a wealth of situations.
