BAVARIAN INFLUENCE.— The great Winter Olympiad, like every event of international importance, had its effect upon the world of fashion. During the spring style shows, the national costume of South Germany overran its own borders, and, with a modicum of success, attempted the invasion of the fashion centres of the Continent. The suit worn by this mannequin is in light grey with dark green cloth ornaments and hand-cut horn buttons. The belt is hand-woven of coloured wool and the outfit completed with the well-known Bavarian hat, hand-made monk’s shoes, and a pike-staff.
