Victor Thomas Manssen (21) was fined £5, in default 14 days, by Mr Salmon, S.M., for disorderly conduct, and a similar penalty was inflicted for assaulting Constable Fleming in the execution ot his duty. Counsel for accused said the occasion was his twenty-first birthday, and he had had some drink. . The Magistrate intimated that in view of his previous good character he would not inflict imprisonment, but would certainly impose a penalty that would remind him of his twenty-first birthday. _____
