GUILDS TO EVADE LEGISLATION
, ALLIANCE ALLEGATION [Per United Press Association.! WELLINGTON, May 28. A deputation from tho New Zealand Alliance of Labour and the Trades ami Labour Council waited bn the Prime Minister (Mr Savage) and the Minister of Labour (Mr Armstrong) to-day, complaining that by the formation of guilds, which were really company unions inspired by the employers, attempts wore being made to undermine tho industrial legislation being passed by the Government. “ It we find anyone running us into a blind alley he is not going to keep us there long,” said the Prime Minister in reply. “They arc not getting away with anything. We will cover the whole ground witli retrospective legislation.”
