EMPLOYMENT PROMOTION BILL PASSED [Pei; United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, May 1. The Legislative Council met at 10.30 and went into committee on the Labour Department Amendment Bill, which was put through all stages and p!LsS6(i> t ’ll. The council went into committee on the Employment Promotion Bill. A protest was raised on the principle which gave the employment tax priority over all other charges, ami it was pointed out that small mortgagees mi'dit suffer hardship. In response to requests, Mr Eagan (Leader of the Council) undertook to carry Ihc representations to the Government. The Bill was passed, and the council adjourned at 12.20 p.m*
