AMENITIES SOCIETY
MEETING OF EXECUTIVE A meeting of the executive of the Dunedin Amenities Society was held in the Chamber of Commerce board room yesterday afternoon, and was attended by Messrs J. Ash (in the chair), It. P. West, G. Simpson, D. Tannock, G. Crow, A, C. Cameron, and Mrs Mackio Bogg. Mr Tannock reported that the building of the toe wall at the St. Clair Baths bad been completed, and the formation of the flower bods commenced. it was also reported that the grassing and planting of the area along the banks ol the Leith between the Castle street loop and Clyde street had been completed.—The report was received 1 . A sub-committee set up to consider the question of membership recommended that a membership campaign be instituted. To assist the campaign illustrated folders could be prepared ami sent to those likely to be interested, together with personal letters signed by the president. This could bo followed by a personal canvass by members. • —• The recommendation was adopted. A letter was received from Miss L. Kelseys complaining of the unsatisfactory state of certain streets.—-Messrs John Wilson and! West were appointed a sub-committee to go into tin’s matter and to report to the next meeting.
