A wrestling contest at the Leichhardt Stadium between Lurich and Hardy Kruskanrp was stopped by the police about 15 minutes after it began owing to Lurich's roughness in throwing his opponent over the ropes and endangering the spectators. . MOBEL YACHTING A liglit south-easterly breeze prevailed for the Vauxhall Model Yacht Club's race on Saturday afternoon. All the models carried full sail and made good time over the course, which was from Waverley to the Belcher Wall. Result:— W. G. Iles's Onaway and J. Itendall's Hilin (dead heat) 1 G. The New Zealand cycling championships were concluded at Cook's Gardens on Saturday night in fine weather. Results : 1,000 Metres Sprint (Olympic and Empire Games event). —R. Giles (Canterbury) 1, J. AVade (title-holder, West Coast) 2. Wade made his break too soon, and Giles won by two lengths. Half-mile Junior Championship.—C. T. Dwight (Auckland) 1, J. Crawford (Auckland) 2, J. H. Gi.llbanks (Auckland) 3. Time, lmin 4 3-osec. Ten-mile Human-paced Championship.—G. Giles (Canterbury) 1, F. J. Grose (Canterbury) 2, J. Gilliard (West Coast) 3. Time, 21min 32sec. Seventeen riders started, but with 12 laps to go only seven remained, and at this stage there was a. sensational crash when Dwight (Auckland) received a puncture and brought down M. Byrnes and Taylor (Auckland) and Wilson (Wellington). All received abrasions. Grose, Giles, and Guillard fought out the final, Giles winning by a wheel from Grose, ivith Guilliard a length away third. Giles and Grose led practically throughout. TRACK SEASGN PROGRAMME The Dunedin Amateur Cycling Club announces the programme of evening meetings for the remainder of the track As usual, there will be held at each meeting the half-mile handicap for ipoints for the President's Cup, In addition there will be two special series of races for the Walker and Hall Cup (A grade) and the Paul Cup (B grade) and one open event at each meeting. The programme is:— • Wednesday, March 4.—-Quarter-mile A grade handicap; half-mile B grade handicap; two-mile open handicap ; half-mile President's Cup handicap. Wednesday, March 11.-—Three-mile A grade handicap; two-mile B grade handicap; quarter-mile open handicap ; half-mile President's Cup handicap. Wednesday, March 18.— One-mile A grade handicap, one-mile B grade handicap, two-mile open handicap for the Crowe Cijp; half-mile President's Cup j handicap. • '
