SUNDAY SERVICES

At First Church to-morrow the Rev. W. Allen Stevoly’s subjects will beln the morning ‘ The Unexpected in Life,’ and iu the evening * Enough.’ The music at the evening service will include the anthem ‘ The Day is Past and Over,’ and the duet ‘ Now Wo Are Ambassadors.’ Dr Galway will be at the organ. ■ , The Rev. D. C. Herron will conduct both services in Knox Church. The subject for the evening will be ‘ The Unexpected Results of Adversity.’ At the’ South Dunedin Presbyterian Church the Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper will be dispensed , at the morning and evening services. . . . . The title of liis evening subject is ‘ Fearless.’ The anthem will bo ‘ O Father, Whoso Almighty Power,’ and Mr Roland Dunbar will sing ‘ How Many Hired Servants?’ The Rev. L. B. Neale will be the preacher at both services in the Methodist Central Mission, Octagon Hall, to-morrow. His

evening subject will be ‘.Make Way for Brotherhood,’ and the soloist will be Miss Ivy Parker. The services at Dundas Street’ Methodist Church will be conducted by the Rev. Percy Cooke. Morning subject ‘ Dead to Sin, Alive to God’; evening subject ‘ Worship.’ Services at St. Kilda Methodist Church are being conducted by the Rev. T. Skuse. Sermons on stirring subjects will be preached. The morning service at Hanover Street Baptist Church will be conducted by the Rev. T. Keith Ewen, when the special quarterly Communion services will be held. In the evening the Rev. T. R. Page will be the preacher. The choir will render the anthem ‘ Seek Ye ‘.he Lord,’ the soloist being Mr J. Simpson. Special harvest services will be held at South Dunedin Baptist Church on Sunday. The morning service will be conducted by the minister, the Rev. T. R. Page, and the evening service by the Rev. T. Keith Ewen. In the evening the choir will sing harvest anthems, and solos will he sung by Miss P. Clare and Mr L. Dunbar. A quarterly communion service will be held at the Caversham Baptist Church at 11 a.m. At 6.30 pm. there will be a baptismal service. Solos will ho rendered by Miss Hei dry and Mr E. Paris. The anthem is entitled ‘I Will Lift Up Mine Eyes.' The preacher at both services is the Rev. R. L. Fursdon.

Special services marking the restoration of .the church and properties will be held in the Congregational Church, Moray Place, to-morrow, both morning and evening. These wili ho the last services to be conducted by the minister, Rev. Albert Mead, prior to his ■' departure for England on leave. The sermons’ subjects are as follow:—Morning, ' Restoration and Renewal evening. ‘The Work Completed.’ At both services the chon’ will render anthems, and at the evening service Mr J. D. M'Kechnie will render a solo, ‘ Bless the House.’ The anthems are ‘Great Is the Lord,’ ‘The Magnificat.’ Members of the City Council and of the Imperial Ex-servicemen’s Association will, attend the evening service, which will be followed by the Sacrament of the Lord’s Slipper. The morning service at United Congregational Church will be conducted by the Rev. W. M. Jsitt, 8.A., of Hendon, London. ‘ The Bride’s Dowry ’...wi1l be the evening subject to be delivered, by the Rev. C. G. Heclley Bycroft. Miss Mavis Johnston will bo the soloist. The services at the Salvation Army, Dowling street, will be conducted by Adjutant and Mrs Mahaffie. The happy hour at 3 v p.ra. will ho .conducted by Lieutenants Taylor and Stone, who have recently been appointed from the Wellington college to Dunedin. Everybody is heartily invited to the bright, happy services. At York Place Hall the evening service will be conducted by Mr B. L. Maiudonald, who will give a rousing message upon the remarkable signs of the imminence of the Lord’s return. Visitors and friends arc cordially invited. , Mrs Gladys Davies, an accredited English sensitive, who is on a visit to the will occupy the platform at the Spiritualist Church to-morrow evening, when “ Pharos ” will deliver a trance address through her.
