TAIERI RIVER TRUST

MONTHLY MEETING Mr T. A M. Ball (chairman) presided at the monthly meeting of the Taieri River Trust yesterday. REPORTS. The foreman (Mr J. Marshall) reported having cleaned 135 ■ chains of Upper Duck Creek, and recommended that work should be commenced on . Wylie’s Creek division. The inspector (Mr W. Munro) reported that 110 chains of the new cut had been cleaned and bigger pipes had been provided for Spence’s drain. Th» men were at present engaged deepening Spence’s drain. The reports were adopted.’ ’ GENERAL. There was. a brief discussion on th« question of opening a new drain from the syphon under ‘the contour channel on the Henley-Berwick road to give drainage to settlers in the Berwickarea whose classifications were recently amended. —The matter was_ left in the hands of the Works Committee. It was agreed to supply the necessary material for a fence along the road from the pumping station to the tlen-ley-Berwick road, provided the tenant of the property would er , v, nce o ‘j Accounts amounting to £155 14s 2d were passed for payment. ,
