On Thursday evening a most success* ful' dance was held in the South Dunedin Town Hall. The Social Committee of the Triumph Lodge, in conjunction with the No. 4 District Social Committee, was responsible for a night that was thoroughly enjoyed by the 200 couples who attended. Mach appreciation is due to the local theatre managers, who kindly consented to judge the screen impersonators’ contest. Their decision was very popular amongst the patrons, the winners being Miss Jane (who represented Anne of Green Gables) ; also Mr Mount (who represented Laurel, of the Laurel and Hardy combination). The Monte Carlo winners were Mrs Moody and Mrs Bryan; also Mrs Dickie and Mr Richardson. The mistletoe dance was won by. Miss N. Baird and Mr N. Dryden. The lucky spot winners were Mrs Dickie and Mr Bell. The lucky door prize, which was donated by the White Star Company, is an air flight, valued at £5 ss. The winning’ number for this will be announced ,at next Thursday’s function. By that time all tickets will be checked. The Monte Carlo winners last Saturday were Mrs and Miss Bazley; also Mr and Mrs Berwick. The usual dance will be held this evening, and the Triumph Band will he heard in new numbers.
