ANSWER TO WELLINGTON PROTEST [Per United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, July 17. In a letter forwarded to the mayor (Mr T. C. A. Hislop) to-day, the Commissioner of Transport (Mr G. C, Godfrey) replies to the mayor’s 1 protest against the variation of the license granted to the Great Pacific Airways, deleting from the route Palmerston North, Wellington, or Blenheim. He states that the Transport Co-ordina-tion Board feels that tho i Wellington City Council had had very’ full opportunity to give evidence at the hearing in March last. After detailing the evidence during the hearing of the applications for licenses'the Commissioner states: “The position now is that the companies concerned are authorised (within the terms of the board’s decision of April 11) to conduct daily services both ways as under: — Great Pacific Airways, Auckland New Plymouth-Wanganui-Welling- .' ton - Blenheim - Christchurch - Tim-aru-Dunedin. Union Airways; Palmerston North-Blenheim-Christchurch-Dunedin. The route prescribed for the Cook Strait Airways is Wellington-Blen-heim-Nelson. “I trust this communication will assist to clarify the position.”
