The ‘ News-Chronicle’s ’ Brussels correspondent says: “Panic-stricken people, fearing that prices will soar, are besieging the shops, where already the retail increases range from 10 to 25 per cent. The Prime Minister has issued a wireless appeal to the nation for assistance in mastering profiteers and speculators.”
