TO-NIGHT'S SWIMMING

The University swimming championships will be decided at the Municipal Baths to-night, and some interesting competition should be witnessed. Ihe competitors include the New Zealand University champion, D. H. Symes, who is also the national 440yds champion. Symes is a much-improved swimmer, having had coaching from Jean 'Paris, but ho will not have matters all his own way, as his opiponents over 220yds and 440yds will include J. Neville, the brilliant Taranaki swimmer, twho performed so well at the national ' championships at Auckland. There will be good racing in the breast stroke and women’s events, and a. special attraction will be a display by W. J. Jarvis, New Zealand 100yds and 220yds champion, while J*. K. Matliicson, New Zealand 150yds backstroke champion will also give an exhibition. A team from H.M.S. Sussex will meet an TI.N.V.R. team at water polo and in a special relay. Several intcveluh handicaps are also included on the programme. .
