LOCAL EJECTION POLLS
DUNEDIN AUTHORISED TO USE “ CROSS " SYSTEM [Paoii Oca Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, March 30. Provision for the holding of all local body elections triennally on the second Wednesday in May is contained in the Local Elections and Polls Amendment BUI, which was introduced and read a first time in the House to-day. Another clause in the Bill authorises the Dunedin City Council to adopt the cross system of voting. The Bill also provides for voting at county elections by ratepayers who are not more than two years in arrear with payments.
