trained the Melbourne Cup winner, Sister Olive, died last night. For alleged unseemly conduct at Caulfield on Saturday, W. Smart, the owner and trainer of Phenomenon, was disqualified until the end of the season. E. Clarke was suspended for two months for crossing the field too sharply in to-day’s Mentone Two-year-oki Handicap. Theresa Gamba is going to Sydney to race at the eastern meetings. Frank Dempsey was surprised and disappointed wherj ho was informed that H. Skidmore would ride Hall Mark at Flemington. The owner (Mr C. B. Kellow) considered Dempsey displayed poor judgment when HalF Mark was beaten by Farndale recently.
