Mr E. E. Nicolson, of the New Zealand Clothing Factory, travelled to Christchurch by the second express today. Mr W. Manson’s visit to Dunedin ended this morning. He left by the 11.35 train for Christchurch, and proposes to embark at Wellington for London so as to reach England in July. Mr James Hogg, called to Wellington on business,* left oy the second express to-day. Mr D. G. Davidson, formerly well known as a banker in Dunedin, travelled to Christchurch by train to-day, and will shortly return to London. Mr W. J. M'Stay. collector of Customs at Oamaru, returned to that city from Dunedin by the 11.35 train today.

Mr A. Hope, superintendent of the Dunedin telegraph office, left this morning to spend his annual leave at the Hermitage.

Word has been received from the registrar of the New Zealand University that Mary W. Wilson has passed the university entrance and medical preliminary examinations. Mr N. H. Kennedy, recently manager of the Kosy Theatre, Palmerston North, who has been transferred in a similar capacity to the Mayfair Theatre, South Dunedin, commenced his new duties on Saturday. A Gisborne Press Association telegram records the death of Mr Thomas Sforrison, who had fifty-two years’ service as a member of the local fire brigade.
