ORKNEY AND SHETLAND SOCIETY

The monthly social of the Orkney and Shetland Society was held in ths Unity Chambers,- Stuart street, on Saturday evening. The hall was well filled with members and friends. Dancing occupied the major part of the evening. The following musical items were given; Miss Jean McGregor (Mosgiel) songs. ‘ The Star o’ Robbie Burns ’ and ‘ The Old Scotdih Sangs ’ ; Mrs P. B. Harper sang by request the song composed by. herself, * End of the Dance ’ and 1 Arrow and the Song.’The accompanists were Mrs N.Johnston and Miss J. M. Allan. The Monte Carlo prizes were won by Miss Lily Hill and Mr F. Clement. The dance music was supplied by Misa Allan’s orchestra, and Mr J. F, Spencq ffias iLG.
