GOLDEN WEDDING
M r and Mrs T. W. Robinson, 173 Queen street north, celebrated their golden wedding on January 22. Mr Robinson, better known to the older generation of commercial travellers, was in the employ of Messrs Butterworth Bros, and Sargood, Son. and Ewen. Retiring in 1895, Mr Robinson settled in Oamaru, but has resided in Dunedin since 1907. Arriving at Port Chalmers by the ship Invercargill in 1874, ho immediately entered the soft goods business, to which trade he had been apprenticed in the Old Country. In 1885 Mr Robinson married a daughter of the late J. C. Taylor, of Invercargill, and bad a family of three daughters—Mrs James D. Madill (Blenheim), the late Mrs D. C. Kibblewhite (Featherstone), and Miss E. Robinson (Dunedin). There arc seven grandchildren. Since his retirement both he and Mrs Robinson hare paid several visits to his old home, Whitbourne Hall, Cumberland.
