RIFLE SHOOTING
WEST TAIERI DEFENCE CLUB On Saturday the West Taicri Defence Rifle Club fired the third match of No. 4 competition, the conditions being seven shots at 300, 500, and 600 yards. The day was fine, with a light fishtail wind. At 300yds the best scores were;—Rifleman D. G. Wylie 32, Rifleman J. Dickie and Deputypresident H. W. Brookes both with 31. At 500yds Deputy-president Brookes and Rifleman 11. Fraser secured 33 a-piece, and at the longer range Rifleman J. Dickie and Deputy-president W. Brookes were top equal, each scoring 31. Deputy-president H. W. Brookes secured the best score for the day with an aggregate of 95. The 'following are the highest scores; —
