NORTH-EAST VALLEY W.C.T.U.
The final meeting for the year of the North-east Valley W.C.T.U. was held in the Institute on Monday. There was a good attendance of members. Miss A. Gray (president) presiding. After devotional exercises and the minutes of last meeting had been road and confirmed Miss Begg (secretary) road the annual reports of officers and superintendents of departments, which were adopted unanimously. Sirs Hiett (dominion _ vice-president) congratulated the union on. its year’s work and then took the chair and conducted the election of officers for the ensuing
year. These were all re-elected, with the exception of the Cradle Roll superintendent. Mrs Johnston was elected for this office (vice Mrs Couter, resigned). Hospitality for delegates to the forthcoming conference was discussed, Miss Begg being appointed convener. During the evening two solos were sung by Miss Turner, and at the conclusion of the meeting supper was served.
