OTAGO SCHOOL OF DANCING
The annual recital to be presented by the Otago School of Dancing will take place in His Majesty’s Theatre on Wednesday next. _ Variety is the keynote of the production, and every branch of terpsichorean art will be represented. The old-time charm of the minuet, the sprightly elfin dance, rhythmic pictures of Mexican scenes, attractive and dashing jockey ballets, an Eskimo scena, ‘ lu the Land of the Aurora,’ tap dancing, and acrobatic ballets will be featured. Solos and duos representing all branches of dancing art will be included, the production concluding with a nautical scena rich with the tang of the sea. A special attraction will be the brilliant costumes, spectacular lighting effects, and appropriate scenic backgrounds. Miss Noeline Parker’s pupils will take part, and an efficient orchestra, with Miss Dorothy Johnston as musical directress, will add colour. The principal, Miss Gwen Webster, will direct.
