(Received September 26, at 11.55 a.m.) Afghanistan’s application for _ admission to the League was a surprise. It will be considered at a special meeting of the Assembly in the afternoon. RUSSIA’S CONTRIBUTION TO EXPENSES. GENEVA. September 25. (Received September 26, at 11.55 a.m.) The League Council decided that Russia should contribute seventy-nine units, equal to France and Germany. Afghanistan was assessed at one unit, Britain pavs 105 units, amounting to £170,000. ‘
