Daffodil Day, which will this year be held on Friday October 5, is the great day of the year for the Plunket Society, for on that day it makes its annual appeal to Dunedin citizens. Six stalls, headed by ladies oJF the Plunket Committee, will be held in the places allotted by the council. Gifts of money, produce, flowers, plants, and indeed anything saleable will be most gratefully received by any stallholder, or, if preferred, may be taken to the Plunket rooms on October 4. It is hoped that every mother who has received benefit will, if possible, bring and buy something from a stall. Four thousand badges have again been generously _ donated _ by Messrs Coull. Somerville, Wilkie to be disposed of during the day.

The Wakari branch of the Otago Home Economics Association held its usual fortnightly meeting at the residence of Mrs Bauld. The president introduced Mrs Rose, who gave an interesting and helpful demonstration on the making of rucked cushions, which was very much enjoyed by the members. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded to the speaker for the evening. A vote of thanks was also accorded to Mesdamea Bauld and Dagg, the hostesses for the evening.
