COMMUNITY SINGING.
TO TEE EDITOR. Sir, —As a radio listener to the weekly “ sings ” in the different centres it was with disgust that I tuned in to 4YA on Friday last. To hear such disgusting remarks as 11 If the one next you is not singing give him a sock on the jaw,” '‘Hold up your flipper,” etc., reflects, very discreditably on Dunedin in general, but more so on the Community Singing Committee to allow such from a leader who apparently has difficulty in differentiating between wit and that which is common and vulgar. The asking ol listeners to “ dig deep and send in the bobs ” (which when sent are acknowledged, but seldom receive thanks) is quite uncalled for. as the purpose ol the ” sings ” is universally recognised, and Dunedin residents are ever to Ibe fore in assisting any such worthy cause. —I am, etc., September 12.
