CAR ADVERTISES ACCIDENT
ENGINE AND RAtHO REMAIN ON INJURED MAN ON ROADSIDE (Pes United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, September 10. _ Discovered in a scmi-conscious condw tion on Mmigaroa Hill about 7 o’clock this evening after having apparently crawled up a 50ft bank over which hi* car had crashed, Douglas Young, % commercial traveller employed by the Public Mutual Insurance Company, or Auckland, was taken to hospital suffering from severe injuries to his back and concussion. The discovery of the accident was made by Mr W. Wilton, the driver of a transport lorry, while he was driving up the hill. He noticed a man lying on the side of the road with one arin upraised, and on finding him to be . seriously injured he sent for help. His at* tention was then attracted by music,and on investigating he found a powerful motor car with its engine still ning and the radio set switched full on, The car was 50ft below the road. The indications were that Young had misjudged the road while coming down the hill, and had crashed over the bank. Although seriously injured, ho had then crawled up the bank to the road. A nearby resident stated that he heard a noise about 4 p.m. It is understood that Young was travelling to Wellington to connect with the ferry service, and that his home is at Hi Richmond terrace, Christchurch.
