FOREST HILLS TOURNAMENT NEW YORK, September 10. At Forest Hills darkness to-day halted play in the United States men’s singles championship. „ Stoefen and Allison were all square at 8-fi, 4-6, 11-9, 6-8, in the quarterfinal to-day, and will finish tho match io-moirow. Frank Parker (Lawrencevdle, Virginia) beat Roderick Menzel, 3-6, /-5, 6-3 6-2; Vernon Kilby (South Africa) defeated Donald Budge (California), 4-6, 6-4. 6-4, 6-4, in the fourth round of matches to-day. Allison beat Stoefen, 8-6, 4-6, 11-9, 6-8, 8-2. Kirby (South Africa) created an upset by defeating Shields in the quarter final, 4-0, 6-4, 6-4, 6-3.
