Arch. Druid Bro. W, Jones presided over a good attendance of members at* Linden’s Pride, the occasion being tha lodge’s anniversary. Greetings were ex-> changed by representatives front Myrtle, Progress, Southern Oak, Olive Branch Lodges. The business was con-, ducted in a manner which promises well! for the forthcoming efficiency competiturn. It was decided to forgo next, lodge night and pay a visit to Pro—gress, the idea being to give experience in paying fraternal visits.. The lodge was then adjourned for thaj purpose of hearing an anniversary pro-*; gramme arranged by Mrs Dakers, when; the following contributed several enjoy-< able items:—-Miss Gladman, pianoforte solo, also tb© accompaniments to. character dances by Misses Christens©nj aiid Isabel Dakers and a duet by BroDakers and- Miss Isabel Dakers. Al good exhibition of wrestling and box 4 ing- was given .respectively by Bros; Hewitt and Stanaway, arid Bros. Clark and lopping. A “community” added turtber enjoyment until supper appeared, after which a happy evening" was brought to a close. The fortnightly meeting of Linden Lodge was held m the lodge room, Boslyn last Tuesday, A.D. Bro. A. Isaacs-i P -The D.P.,_Bro. Bundle, was . admitted with musical honours and received a warm welcome from the, A.D. and members. The correspondence included invitations to Boyal Oak and Mistletoe Lodges, and these were accepted. The Lily of the Valley Lodge wrote advising that they were agreeable to playing at home or travelling to play for the cribbage shield. It was decided to set aside September 25 as a suitable date in Linden Lodge. An invitation to attend Linden’s Pride was accepted, the lodge to go officially. On the room being prepared, one new candidate was initiated into the order.u night will be held on September 12 after .the juvenile meeting. The H-P. was toasted, and in the course of a most instructive reply, touched on many phases of Druidism. The evening was concluded with .supper and cards. One new member was .proposed. The quarterly . meeting of Ivan hoe Lodge, held in the Manchester Unitv Chambers, Stuart street, on Wednesday, last,' was presided over by A.D. Bro.' Vernon, when he was greeted with a large attendance of members and visitors. A large amount of correspondence was dealt with. Eros. Gray and Donaldson were appointed delegates to the Boyal Oak Lodge. The lodge decided to take one page in the booklet for the forthcoming year. One candidate was initiated. The bards’, report' was duly received, and they were thanked for it, and sick pay and accounts were passed for payment. The Vigilance Committee report was endorsed. G.P. Bro. Boston, accompanied by G.L, officers and Board-of Management, paid itjiri lodge' an official visit, D.p. Bro; Bundle and the general efficiency judges; also, attended the. lodge. D.P. Bro.'Bundle presented P.A. Bro. Wilkinson with bis P.A. diploma and P.A. Bro. Wilkinson suitably replied.The lodge was favoured with a visit from G.P. Bro. Boston, G.V.P. Bro. Hunt, P.D.P. Bro. H. Beeves, P.D-P. Bro. F. E. Beeves, P.A. Bro. Young, and P.A. Bro. "Baird.

R.A.D. Bro. R. Morris presided over an excellent meeting of members at the last monthly meeting of the Royal Arch Chapter, No. I. Since its last meeting the chapter had suffered a severe loss in the death of one of its most: zealous and oldest officers, P.G.P. Bro. R. Jack.P.G.P. Bro. Jacobsen, who had been associated, with Bro. Jack over a - long period, eulogised his yeoman services to the' order. Grand Secretary Bro. Steel attended officially and addressed the members on the merits of the primitive degree as recommended by the International Grand Lodge of Druidism.: After an interesting discussion Bro. Steel'was thanked for his address, and it was decided to consider the question at the nest meeting. The secretary reported that- the Arch Druid competition held in the Otago Lodge room proved very successful. P.A. Bro. A.) Jelly being declared the winner. It was arranged that the’ next competition be a Vice Arch competition to be held in the Royal Oak Lodge Room on September 17. Arch Druid Bro. A. M'Cutcheort presided over a good attendance of officers and brethren of the Lily of the Valley Lodge in the Albany Street Hall on Wednesday last. D.P. Bro. A., Bundle, of No. 1 District, attended in his official capacity, and received a warm welcome by the Arch Druid and brothers assembled. An invitation from Mistletoe Lodge inviting Brothers to attend a madhatters’ social on September 11 was received. The Royal Arch Chapter also wrote extending an invitation to all past arches to attend a special meeting of the chapter on September 11. A letter was received from the secretary of Linden Lodge stating that Linden Lodge was prepared to play Lily for the cnbbage shield on September 23 in the Linden Lodge Room,. The bards reported that there was very, little sickness amongst members when sick pay amounting to £3 3s 4d waa passed for payment._ One; new member was proposed to be initiated next lodge night. The toast of the visitors wa* responded to by the following:—D.P, Bro. A. Bundle, No. 1, P.D.P. Bro. H. Brockie and P.D.P. Bro. J. Faulds, of Ivanhoe Lodge, P.A. Bro. Tyrrell and Bro Simpson, of Linden Lodge. After a rehearsal of the initiation ceremony the lodge closed in harmony.
