Don’t Neglect to Record your Vote To-morrow and to V ote AGAINST the Unimproved Rating Issue —— IN OTHER WORDS : STRIKE OUT THE TOP LINE DON’T forget that in very many instances rating on unimproved value must place the burden upon those least able to pay. You may be one of the victims. DON’T forget that the economic horizon is brightening; so don’t cause more clouds to gather by voting for rating on unimproved value. DON’T be persuaded by newcomers, non-ratepayers, imported advocates, and others, who have no stake in the city, to vote for unimproved value rating. You may deeply regret it. DON’T allow beautiful Dunedin to become a closely-settled, unhealthy city of fiats, tenements, boarding houses, and the like. Keep your gardens and ample air space. DON’T forget that your gardens—and consequently your health and a great deal of your enjoyment—are in danger should rating under unimproved value be adopted. DON’T forget that your job also may be in danger. Employers who are “loaded” with extra rating must adjust matters, DON’T you know that there are large numbers of sections belonging to people of moderate means upon which the rates will be increased three-fold under the unimproved value system?
