SUNDAY SERVICES

The Rev. W. Alien Stevely will conduct the services at First Church. His subjects will bo—morning, ‘ In His Steps,’ ordination of deacons; jCvening, ‘Emerson’s First Sermon.’ Dr V. E. Galway will be the organist. Rev. D. C. Herron will conduct both services in Knox Church. The subject for the evening will bo ‘Making Friends with Your Tiger.’ ‘ The Beauty of Holiness ’ will he the subject at the morning service in St. Stephen’s Church, ‘ln the Hands of the Potter ’ the subject in the evening. E. S. T.uckwell conducts both services at the Hanover Street Baptist Church, .In the evening the subject will be ‘ Wholcheartedness,’ the anthem will bo ‘ God Is a Spirit,’ and a duct will be sung by Misses Mavis Smith and Isobel Swann. Services for Christian social worship will be held in the Congregational Church, Moray place, at 11 a.m. and 6.30, both services to be conducted by the Rev. AJbert Mead, M.A. Morning subject, ‘ The Epistles to Timothy ’; evening subject, ‘ The Real Martyrdom ’ (Acts vi., 8, vij.). At the evening service Miss Margaret Green will render a solo, and the choir will render the anthem ‘My Soul Doth Magnify the Lord,’ by Pittman. _ At the United Congregational Church the Rev. C. CT. Hedlcy Bycroft will conduct the services. At the morning session ho will speak on ‘ Constancy in Well-doing,’ and in the evening ‘ The Palmos Vision of the Glorified Son of Man.’ Mrs L. J. Smith will be the soloist. Evangelist W. J. Richards, who has lec‘ured extensively throughout Australia and New Zealand, will commence a series of 'ectures on world conditions in the light of Bible prophecy at the gospel marquee, which is situated in King Edward streei (near Melbourne street), South Dunedin. At the opening lecture' on Sunday, September 9. Mr Richards will speak on Ihe subject ‘ Beating Swords Into Ploughshares; Will the World’s Destinv be the Millennium or the Great World War Arranged don?’ At the community singing preceding the lecture beautifully-illustrated hymns will be thrown on the screen.

The Spiritualist Church will hold service n the Radiant Hall in the evening, when Mrs Brooks will deliver an address entitled ‘Three Great Truths.’ She will afterwards give demonstrations of spiritual clairvoyance.

First Church of Christ Scientist will conduct services in Allbell Chambers, 154 Stuart street. The subject for the morning and evening services will be ‘ Man.’ At Ihe Theosonhical Society there will be an address by Miss E. Starkey entitled ‘Some Great Painters: Their Pictures and Message.’
