DAIRY COMMISSION
INTERIM REPORT READY CABINET TO CONSIDER IT MONDAY [From Our Parliamentary Reporter.] WELLINGTON, September 8. The Government lias now received the interim report of the Dairy Coinmission, and Cabinet will consider this document on Monday with a view to introducing legislation to deal with the subject. Mr Forbes, in discussing the subject this afternoon, said the Government had asked the commission to give in advance the portions of its report which would suggest legislation, so that the necessary measures could be passed this ■session. It is not the intention of the Government to release this interim report, as it is felt that it would rob the final report of its interest, as it is in the complete report that the reasons for the legislation are contained. Mr Forbes proposes to time the introduction of the legislation so that when it comes down the final report of the commission will be tabled at the same time, thus giving members the chance to consider the report in conjunction with the legislation.
