AUSTRALIAN HOCKEY TEAM
AN EASY WIN [Fn United Press Association.] TIMAHTT, September 6. Though several members are still suffering from influenza, Australian hockey team gave a fine display when Jt defeated the Geraldine Sub-associa-tion to-day by 8 goals to 0. The combination and stick work of the visitors were a feature of the game, which was particularly fast in the first half, though the pace slackened in the second session. J. Allen, the visiting centre forward, played a great game in spite of the fact that he was obliged to leave the field for a short period owing to the effects of influenza. -Tester, Leggett, and Penman also showed out, while Leo was invaluable as centre half. W. Rule, the Geraldine custodian, played an outstanding game, and but for his display the score would have been much higher. There was a large attendance. Goals were scored for the winners by Allen (4), Tester (2), and Stening (B).'-
