FORESTERS

The fortnightly meeting of Court Enterprise was held in the court room on Tuesday last. It being the P.C.R.’s evening, P.C.R. Bro. George Currie presided. All his officers were in attendance. The woodwards reported on the sick members,, the report again being not at all satisfactory, the weather being against them a good deal- Two maternity claims were received and passed for payment. Two candidates Were initiated into the order with the usual formalities by the C.R., P.C.R. Bro. E.. Johnson taking the second part, and the S.O.R. (P.C.R. Bro. D. Alereer) welcomed the new brothers with the Foresters’ toast. The following courts were invited to the Irish evening (P.C.R. Brp. G. Currie’s night):— Courts St. Andrew, Pride of Leith, Pride of Dunedin," Queen of Green Island, Robin Hood, Little John, and the District Executive. The. C.R. gave the toast to the visitors, which was responded to by C.R. Sister Shepperd on behalf of Court Woodland’s Pride, C.R. Bro. Patton for Court Excelsior, and P.C.R. Bro, Walton on behalf of Court King Edward’s Pride. The last, named complimented the officers on the initiation ceremony, remarking that it compared well with any in the district competition. P.C.R. Bro. Brettell reported on the anniversary, everything being;in readiness, stating that he was looking forward for the attendance of 200, as he was making special efforts for this occasion. After the meeting the C.R. welcomed the visitors and members, numbering 150, to the P.C.R.’s evening. The following contributed items: —Hilo Trio, Messrs Broadfoot, Laurie, and Sutherland ; songs—Bro. Tom Dillon, P.C.R. Bro. A. Al'Leod, Air Erskine; recitation. Mr Vivian; Irish reel—Aliases Baxter (2) and At'Millan (2) ; Highland reel—Al isscs Baxter (2) Al'Afillan (2). Piper A. Al'Afillan supplied the bagpipe imisip, and Bro. W. Hargreaves acted as accompanist. P.C.R. Bro. AV. AI. Hogg returned thanks to the performers, after which supper was served by the court officers, and then a dance followed, the music being supplied by Bro. W- Hargreaves,
