‘ WHITE SISTER ’ FOR GREEN ISLAND Heralded as one of the most ambitious pictux-es pi-odnced for some time, ‘ The White Sister,’ co-starring Clark Gable and .Helen Hayes for the first time in their respective cai-pers, will he shown at the Green Island Cinema to-morrow afternoon and to-morroxv night. Miss Hayes plays the part of Angela Chinx-o-monte, daughter of an Italian prince, while Gable has the role of Giovanni Serveri, a lieutenant in the Italian Air Corps. Listed as the highlights of the production are the decision of Angela to break away from the sheltered life she has lived ixx a convent to engage in a love affair with Giovanni, tlxo young Italian officer; tho tragic death of Angela’s father in an automobile accident while trying to stop her from meeting Giovanni; the young officer’s- summons to thei front just as lie and Angela are about to bo married; Angela’s tragic resignation on heai’ing a report of the death of her lover in action; her entrance into a convent in an attempt to forgot the past; the sensational return of Giovanni from a px-ison camp and bis frantic attempts to get Angola to break her vows: and the final spectacular air raid in which Giovanni undex-goes an act of heroism in mi effort to protect Angela’s convent from bombardment.
