TRINITY METHODIST CHURCH

A. welcome social was tendered to the Rev. Charles-Olds in Trinity Schoolroom:. on Wednesday evening, when Mr S« Lawn, circuit steward, presided over a; good attendance of Trinity members and friends. The Rev. E. x. Cos tendered a welcome as mayor, and also as representing the Methodist ministers of the district. Other speakers were thaf Rev. F. E. Foot representing the north; end of the circuit, Mr Hayman as church trustee representative, Mrs Peart on behalf of the W.C.T.IJ., Mr N. Gibb as a circuit steward, and Mg Gapper on behalf of the youth, of {ha’ church. During the evening items were rendered by the choir, and songs fay} Mrs C. E. Roberts 1 and Miss M. Green,, while Miss Heather Smith gave a reew tation. ■••• The Rev. Mr Olds thanked all tbs speakers for their words of welcome and encouragement, and on behalf of himself and Mrs Olds said how much they appreciated the very warm welcome which had been tendered them by tha congregation of Trinity. He nrged each section of the church to do its _ part towards helping on the work of the circuit, making an especial appeal to the members of the choir and to the., young men and women to rallv round their church and to consider him a.« ways their friend and confidant.
