BRITISH DRAMA LEAGUE

On Thursday, Friday, and Saturday of next week the first festival of short plays to be held; in Otago is being staged in the Concert Chamber. The Drama League Committee is very pleased with the entries received as they seem to cover every amateur society of note in Otago. One group has entered from Balclutha and one from Palmerston, our Dunedin Repertory Society is entering two, the W.E.A. have three entries, the Thespians two, Otago Women’s Club and the St. Clair Women’s Club one each, and the 4 Columba Old Girls’ Club one. It can easily be seen that very keen competition should ensue from these entries. Miss Elizabeth Blake is judging, and each night will gum a criticism of the players. .The winning team from Dunedin is to compete later in the year against all the other centres for the New Zealand cup.
