CAR FALLS OVER CLIFF
TRAGEDY IN NEW SOUTH WALES THREE' PEOPLE KILLED. Press Association —By Telegraph—Copyright. SYDNEY, May 16. A motor - car. fell 150 ft over a cliff in the vicinity of Scarborough on the South Coast to-day. and David Todd, aged sixty, and Mrs Allen were killed. Todd’s daughter-in-law was critically injured. Todd’s wife and son were thrown clear and were unhurt. LATER DETAILS. SYDNEY, May 16. Details of the Scarborough car accident show that three people were killed —David Todd, Mrs Ethel Allen, and Mrs Margaret Lowdon, aged forty-two. The seriously injured were Mrs David Todd (55) and her daughter-in-law, Mrs Jean Todd. The girl and the boy leapt from the car before it went over the precipice. MIRACULOUS ESCAPE. SYDNEY, May 17. (Received May 17, at 10 a.in.) The car swerved across tlio road, crashed through tlio protective fence, and plunged 300 ft down an almost vertical cliff. Mrs Todd had a remarkable escape. As the car began to fall it turned in the air and she was thrown on to a lodge at tho extreme edge of the cl iff. It Is thought that the steering gear of the ear locked.
