THE LATEST RULING IPeb Unitkj Purse Association.! WELLINGTON, May 15. In a reserved judgment delivered by Mr E. Page, S.M., to-day it was held to be an offence to allow the_ drinking of liquor in restaurants at a time when licensed premises are required to' ba closed. George_ Kathistideo and Peter Lambert, proprietors of'the Blue Bird Cafe, and Giordano Zombon, an employee, were convicted and ordered ta pay costs, the police stating that they would not press for a heavy penalty but would bo satisfied with the conviction being brought under the notice or other restaurant keepers and the public. " . . . , It was .stated by the magistrate Jiao although the proprietors were not present at the time of the offence this wa« a ease in law where a principal was liable for the actions of his servant.
