STEEPLES TD RIOTOUS The Wanganui Jockey Club’s Winter Meeting was concluded in fine weather before a good attendance. The track was in excellent order. The totalisator handled £12,901 10s, compared with £9,838 10s, making the total for the meeting £21.796, against £18,454 lastyear. Consent, and Million past the mile. Easterly showed the way into the straight ahead of High Grader, Count Lendroff, Jayson, and Million. The leaders drew away, and fought out a good finish. Den Erma and Brown Abbey made the pace for the greater part of the journey. Copey lost his rider at the brush after going a mile. ‘Brown Abbey displaced Don Erma three furlongs from home, and was followed into the straight by Riotous, Manuiri, and Ron Erma.
