TECHNICAL OLD BOYS v. UNIVERSITY B. The Oval was in a very bad state, hut this did not prevent Old Boys from giving a good display. The forward line played with cohesion, the Silver brothers combining well on the right wing. The goals were obtained by L. Silver and Weavers. Harris, who turned out for his old team, played a briliant game, saving’his side time and again. The ’Varsity eleven were unfortunate on many occasions, chiefly through too much solo play and misplacing of the hall. Bremner, full-hack, and Bickerstaff, goalie, played soundly for the Blues, and were instrumental in the score not being greater than it was. 'The Technical forwards wore unfortunate in having insufficient support from their halves, especially when they wore in scoring positions. The referees were H. Sew Hoy and A. Chapman, Results: Technical Old Boys 2 University B 0 WOMEN’S GAMES ’VARSITY v. KING’S. The Blues had a hard tussle, and it was only the good defence which kept the King’s forwards at hay. First one, then the other took a turn at attack, and though the ground was soft the game was very fast. The final score was:— ’Varsity 2 King’s 1 Mr 11. S. Wallace controlled the game. OTAGO v. DUNEDIN. Logan Bark No. 2 was very heavy for this match, in which in the later stages Otago made all the running. The first spell was very evenly contested. Otago finding it hard to penetrate, and Dunedin defending stoutly. Otago led 1-0 at half-time. The Red defence had been wonderfully sound. In the second spell Otago had most of the play, and had no difficulty in adding four further goals. Otago 5, Dunedin 0. Mr D. Miller was the referee. B GRADE. Kings 2, Y.W.C.A. 0.
