ULM FILES AGAIN POWER WIRES HIT IN TAKE-OFF Mr 0. P. Ulm. and party,...in the monoplane Faith in Australia, left the Richmond Aerodrome at 9.40 p.m. yesterday, passed over Sydney at 10 p.m. (11.30 New Zealand time), and commenced the Transtasman flight to -NewPlymouth, ' the aviator announcing that, after a brief stay, lie will go on to Wellington to deliver a good-will message to the Premier from the Australian Prime Minister. No radio messages of the plane’s procress have been received, but a Sydney Press Association cable (10.5 states that immediately after Ulm left Richmond Aerodrome at 9.40 P- m . the lights in the aerodrome faded- .bunsequent investigations showed that the electric light wires which convey the current to the aerodrome were brbken. It is believed that the Faith in Australia came in contact with them. Spectators saw a _ vivid flash -D 1 ® machine rose. It is apparent that U4m and his party narrowly escaped disaster.
